Privacy Policy

Last updated June 2026

The short version: Trivet does not collect your personal data. Your recipes, photos, cookbooks, plans, and grocery lists are stored on your device and sync only through your own iCloud account. We have no servers that hold your recipes, no analytics that identify you, no advertising, and we never sell data. Our App Privacy label reads Data Not Collected.

Who we are

Trivet is made by Handler Labs LLC. You can reach us at [email protected] with any privacy question.

What stays on your device

Everything you create in the app lives in a local database on your iPhone or iPad: recipes, ingredients, steps, photos, cookbooks, tags, meal plans, grocery lists, and your settings. If you turn on iCloud, this data syncs through Apple's CloudKit to your own private iCloud account. We cannot see it, and it never touches a server we control.

The import service

When you import a recipe from a web link, the app may send that link to a small import service we run. The service fetches the page, extracts the recipe, and returns it to your device. It is stateless: it stores nothing about you, keeps no logs of your recipes, and does not associate requests with any identity. If you import by pasting text or scanning a photo, that happens entirely on your device and the service is not involved.

Purchases

If you buy Premium or Lifetime, the purchase is handled by Apple and processed through RevenueCat, which manages subscription state. RevenueCat sees only the information needed to know whether your purchase is active. It does not receive your recipes or personal content. Apple's own terms govern the payment itself.

What we do not do

  • We do not use third-party advertising or ad tracking.
  • We do not use analytics that identify you. Any product metrics are coarse and anonymous.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data.
  • We do not require an account, an email, or a password.

Your rights and control

Because your data lives on your device, you control it directly. You can edit or delete any recipe at any time. You can export your entire library to a file you keep. To remove everything, delete the app, which removes the local data, and manage the iCloud copy from your device's iCloud settings. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. Since we do not collect personal data, there is little for us to provide, but you can always contact us with a request.

Children

Trivet is a general-audience cooking app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

This website

The gettrivet.com website uses no tracking cookies and runs no advertising or analytics that identify you. Standard server logs may record basic request information for security, with no profiling.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the new version here. Material changes will be noted in the app where appropriate.

This page describes our practices in plain language. It is not legal advice. Privacy law varies by country and changes often.
